Watch Series 5 battery suddenly dies with podcasts / running app

I’ve asked this question before but never received an answer. My Watch series 5 goes from fully charged to restarting and showing 10% only when I listen to podcast and use Strava. It happens after a couple minutes sometimes. I have tried everything from resetting, complete wipe, iOS is current. I can stream music and use Strava just fine. It’s only when listening to podcast (I am just using my watch data FYI) that it restarts my watch then battery shows dead. When I get home, I plug it in for a minute and restart it a few times and then battery will say 80%.

Is this most likely a software or hardware issue?

this has been happening for the past year and several updates since then hasn’t mixed it. It never used to do this until Watch OS8.
