My fingerprint ID stopped working today. Anyone else have the same problem? Or a solution?

I’ve done all the suggestions. I’m having the problem with my imac24

The fingerprint reader works but seems to be unavailable for sign in and passwords

Fingerprint works but not for sign on and password for apps. It’s as is that function has been turned off. How do I turn it back on?
