Where do I create a "Developer ID" in the Apple Developer control panel ?

I know how to create a Certificate for signing, and an Identifier.

Now I'm trying to find the place in the Apple Developer control panel where I can create a Developer ID.

I read these instructions below but they seem to be out of date.

Or, is it simply that I am forced to create the Developer ID in XCode now?

thanks @etresoft and @MrHoffman..

I downloaded my certificate I created which I'll sign using codesign soon.

I created also an "Identifier". How do I use this Identifier? Its not part of the signing or notarizing process, I read somewhere its to appear in the app's Info.plist file. How do I insert the Identifier into the app's Info.plist file (if thats where its supposed to go)? (My app is not coded within Xcode)

I’ve previously linked to code-signing resources and tools, particularly including command-line tools for signing and notarization. Start there. You’ll also want to review and potentially discuss this with whatever entity is providing the frameworks and tools that are being used, if not Xcode.
