Series 5 vs series 8 vs Ultra watches

Hello all, My series 5 is almost 2 years old. First year my battery could last 72 hours. It's set up to be a black screen 24/7 unless I touch the screen for the time or other usage. 2 months ago, I could get 48 hours, now I'm down to 18 hours between charges. Battery health shows 88%

I'm considering the Series 8 or the Ultra but the battery life for either watch doesn't come close to 72 hours. The Ultra advertises 60 hours.

Anyone have some information or inside intel they can share please?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you have some questions about the battery life on the Apple Watch Ultra. We'd like to help.

From what we found here, it looks like 60 hours is the Multi-Day Adventure battery amounts you could expect while performing the same tasks as they have listed: Apple Watch - Battery - Apple. However, the settings you have chosen for your own specific watch could increase or decrease that amount.

If you continue to the Apple Watch Ultra. similarly to the way you use your series 8, you would likely still be pleased with the battery life!
