Why is Siri so disrespectful
Siri always says Hmmm or ummm or similar when Hey Siri is spoken.

I'll never understand why some find this so disrespectful? It's coloquial and is not disrespectful at all. And to avoid having Siri say uh huh (which is what you're actually referring to), stop pausing when speaking. For example, if you say Hey Siri, then ask a question like "Siri (then pause) what's the outside temperature." After the pause, Siri may say Uh Huh. To avoid it, ask your question without pausing. "Siri what's the outside temperature"

it’s an AI. So it’s either a learned or programmed response.
mid day ou said something to your child and they said Hmmm, would you consider that disrespectful?
You seem to have a need for me to agree with you that Siri is rude. I don't agree, but then what does that get you? As I mentioned previously, I don't work for Apple. No one on this forum works for Apple. No one here designed Siri. I provided a link you can use to express your thoughts to Apple. There's just no reason to debate this here.

Siri is not your child or subservient to you. turn it off if you continue to have issues.
