How would an external DVD player with WiFi network capability help your situation?

It is the same issue.

The DVD simply will NOT transmit/mirror to any iOS/iPadOS device.

Besides, the WiFi in DVD/Bluray/Internet streaming combo players is for connecting up to the Internet and recieving streaming media content through the player, through built-in apps, over a wireless, WiFi network.

Similar to an Apple TV media streaming box, Roku streaming box/stick or Amazon Firestick, etc.

Not for transmission of data over WiFi network to other external wireless devices.

These types of hardware media players are audio/video recievers, streaming audio/video content receivers only.

You will never do what you want to do with DVDs/Bluray discs.

Apple mobile devices do NOT work this way

Most other tablet devices and smart phones are NOT DVD/Bluray disc players, either.

No Apple iOS device can act as an external reciever for any wireless audio or video from another hardware audio/video source.

Cannot ever be done. This could NOT ever be done.

Copying DVDs/Bluray discs are possible, but you are on your own to to search online for the procedures and apps to be able to do this on a computer.

Sorry.

Thank you.
I guess I will make a file and put it on ITune, unless you have a better suggestion.

If you know how to accomplish that you certainly can do this.

No one here can discuss anything about copying DVDs/Bluray disc, in these communities, as this is NOT allowed in these official Apple Support Communities.

If you do not know how to accomplish this, no one here can help you.

You are on your own to search the Internet and find your own answers on how to accomplish this.

Good Luck!

Just checked Amazon and there are companies that still make portable large screen DVD/Bluray disc players.

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=portable+bluray+dvd+players+with+large+screen&crid=1X2BNU3QAZPJX&sprefix=portable+DVD%2FBluray+players+with+screen%2Caps%2C82&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_39

Looks like these work on rechargeable batteries and on external power source similar to an iPad.

Screen sizes up to 18 inches and the pricing for these is very reasonable.

Best of Luck to You!
