We’ll that is correct and helpful. However it is not helpful design at all and does not make sense given that my wife can track my phone, uses our iCloud storage and can buy stuff using my Apple Pay… and that we travel together and lose phones and luggage together. Big Apple oversight in my opinion

Yes. I can agree it may be an oversight and it woulds be useful if it were possible.

If enough people do so, Apple may add the option in a future software update.

You cannot. AirTags are personal, cannot be shared, and only the Apple ID they are tied to can track them.
