After updating my mom's phone to iOS 16, the clock on her lock screen is super faded and you can barely see it. This issue did not happen on my phone once updated to iOS 16 so I am not sure at all what the solution could be. I have tried updating the color of the clock itself to various others and have also tried changing the wallpaper entirely but nothing has worked.

Open the phone
Tap and hold the lock screen
tap + and add a new lock screen
Forget what they had before
Open the phone
Tap and hold the lock screen
tap + and add a new lock screen

I tried adding a new Lock Screen and a new wallpaper along with it and it’s still having the issue.
Sounds like a hardware problem.
First try a Forced restart Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)
If no better you should arrange a repair

Or
Contact - Official Apple Support
Anything other than Screen or Battery may be a replacement phone and the price is in the article under "Other damage"
