Autorotation on iOS 16

Does autorotation works under settings app after upgrade to iOS 16? It stopped working for me though I am on a stable version of iOS 16.0🙁

It sounds as though you're referring to the screen rotation on your iPhone, and not seeing the rotation occur in applications as expected. If so, have you verified that it's not locked using the steps listed below? If not, make sure the screen rotation isn't locked as this can impact this behavior.


"Rotate the screen on an iPhone without a Home button"

  1. "Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
  2. Tap the Portrait Orientation Lock button  to make sure that it's off.
  3. Turn your iPhone sideways."


If the screen still doesn't rotate, try a different app — like Safari or Messages — which are known to work in landscape mode.


"Rotate the screen on an iPhone or iPod touch with a Home button"

  1. "Swipe up from the bottom edge of your screen to open Contol Center.
  2. Tap the Portrait Orientation Lock button  to make sure that it's off.
  3. Turn your iPhone or iPod touch sideways."


If the screen still won't rotate, try another app — like Safari or Messages — which are known to work in landscape mode.


If the settings are correct and the screen isn't rotating as expected, the next step will be to restart your iPhone. While restarting is a simple step, it is very effective in resolving many issues.
