I can’t get my iPad keyboard off so I can use my Magic Keyboard

My Magic Keyboard reverted to the iPad Pro keyboard and I can’t get the iPad Pro keyboard to switch allowing the Magic keyboard to be used

Remove your iPad from the Magic Keyboard for iPad - and carefully/gently clean the three smart connector contacts on both the iPad and keyboard with a soft pencil eraser. Ensure that the contacts are clean, dirt and dust free - and all debris from the eraser have been removed - before reconnecting the two.
