Whats wrong with my M1 Pro 14” battery?
According to Apple my device is in perfect shape, I bought it brand new and after almost 1 month of use it started shutting down at 20%, I took it to an authorized Apple service and they checked it, it didn’t shut down for them, they ran some test on it and said it’s in good condition, I got it back and it worked fine for aprox 2 months, then it went back to shutting down again at 20%, I called Apple support again and explained them the issue, they made me do some diagnostics, Os reinstall, SMC reset and full system reset. I tested it by running the battery down from 100% to 20% and it shut down again. this time I learned how to get the logs of said shut downs to have the proof. Apple support told me to take it back to another authorized Apple service, they checked it again and happened the same, they told me it’s not showing errors, nor shut downs. Apple wasn’t able to help me so I had to discover the issue by myself. According to system report> power> batter information my battery isn’t fully charge and it keeps charging even if it shows 100%, for those parameters to change I have to charge it 40 min more aprox, by doing that the device doesn’t shut down and it apparently calibrates the battery momentarily, that’s why the technicians weren’t able to see those shut downs, because they let the battery charge for longer periods while doing something else and the problem is momentarily “solved”. So the question here is, WHATS WRONG WITH THE BATTERY? This isn’t normal at all! And Apple isn’t capable of addressing this issue.
