What is Unix Executable File

Thanks for the info. This BBEdit text file without '.txt' suffix can be made 'Unix Executable':

ls -al
-rw-r--r--@ 1 matti  staff    3 Sep 23 16:30 a

chmod +x a

ls -al    
-rwxr-xr-x@ 1 matti  staff    3 Sep 23 16:30 a

Why do you ask?

Any item without an extension and with the executable bit set will show up as a "Unix Executable" file, but it may not actually be one.
