I need help/ I have two problems

  1. My iPhone has locked itself and does not give any indication of when it might unlock.
  2. I attempted to connect iPhone to computer in order to unlock the phone but my 2018 MacBook Air does not register the phone via iTunes, so I have no phone. I am also abroad so its slightly complicated. Can you help?
