Can family setup Apple Watch support home key?
My kid is on family setup for his Apple Watch and doesn’t have a iPhone. Can his watch support home key as he wants to use it to unlock the main door at times?

I don’t think the family setup for Apple Watch for kids without an iPhone would be able to use the shared home key to open the HomeKit locks as I still don’t see a Home app nor an option in the wallet to add keys on his watch.
please let me know if there’s some settings I should do to enable shared homekey on my boy’s Apple Watch. He needs it to open the door when back from school.
Family Setup will support the Home app (and adding home keys) later this year when Apple releases an update to the Home app and iOS16/watchOS9. They haven’t told use when exactly.
To use the home feature requires Apple’s new Home architecture—and that comes as a separate update in the Home app available later this year.
Sharing control of your home and receiving Home notifications require an Apple TV or HomePod setup as a home hub.
It is supposed to be coming: first in WatchOS 9, then 9.1, and now, evidently, it's been pushed back further to "Coming Later This Year." (see link: watchOS 9 - Apple)
WatchOS 9.1 was just released, so is controlling Home devices now possible? I thought it was supposed to be (finally😬)... but I'm still not seeing that this is the case. 😒
Thanks any/all.
