We understand that you believe your backlight on your MacBook Air keyboard isn't behaving as expected and not shutting down when told to.
For help with adjusting your keyboard backlight, please review these steps:
Manually adjust keyboard backlighting or turn it off
Do one of the following, depending on your Mac model:
• On the keyboard, press the increase brightness key
or the decrease brightness key

2. Select “Turn keyboard backlight off after [time period] of inactivity,” then choose a time from the pop-up menu.
