How do I remove purchasing permission for family member?

You can't usually. If they are young enough you may be able to set this on their account: Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - Apple Support Your other option would be to turn off purchase sharing for everybody: iPhone User Guide - Apple Support, How to share purchases with your family - Apple Support, or remove the person from your family entirely (if you are the organizer) Leave Family Sharing - Apple Support.
