Radar Images
Radar weather images on multiple sites show up as a very thin strip when using new version of Safari. They are just fine on other browsers.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Just to add, Google Maps…
See if you have the same problem in Safe Mode.
Same issue with me. Updated to Monterey 12.6 on Mac mini. Safari 16.0 now won't display images correctly on Google maps, Radar images don't work on Weather.com and Weatherbug... all display in a very thin horizontal line. Coulda been tested before sending out update...
From the following Discussion Google Maps not working in Safari 16 macOS 12.6, why? - Apple Community:

... which would imply the anomaly affects only certain Macs.
Try it.
I would determine if any Safari extension or cache contents are causing what you see. I have just checked several radar sites and none exhibit the issue you mention. Only normal radar imagery. I am using Safari 16.0 on macOS Big Sur 11.7, and on macOS 12.6.
No problems here with Safari 16.0

I found that a Safe Mode boot is the first thing to try when things go wonky. It's amazing how many glitches it can fix.
Be thankful if your images display correctly... I wish mine did. I'm getting exact same results as JCgonner... Monterey 12.6 on Mac mini. Safari 16.0 now won't display images correctly on Google maps, Radar images don't work on Weather.com and Weatherbug... all display in a very thin horizontal line. Guess I'll call local Apple Store and see if I can get answers to problem. Seeing other peoples images that are working doesn't help the folks that the update software isn't working correctly.
But thanks anyway.
You're welcome. Personally I don't use Chrome or have it installed on any of my Macs. But back to the problem, do you have any extensions installed in Safari, or any of the other suggestions posted by JohnGalt or VikingOSX?
The problem started when the new update was installed. I have Safari 16.0 and Monterey 12.6. This is how the radar pic appears. Don't know what else is affected. Just have found that this happens regardless of the website.
And using Safari 16.0 on macOS Big Sur 11.7 and macOS Monterey 12.6, here are radar images from The Weather Channel, and AccuWeather along the West Virginia/Virginia state line today at 1 pm:
No very thin strip is evident, though the different software that individual weather sites use to display the received radar images can vary in its presentation, as well as the dynamic nature of the storm activity itself.
Thanks again. I'm a 65 old common user. Not very high tech and can screw things up in settings.
But let me say this... I checked the same websites in Chrome browser and they perform correctly.
I just don't use Chrome and prefer Safari bookmarks layout.
Any particular sites? They are fine on The Weather Channel.
Then it is unique to your implementation as two of us running Monterey 12.6 (Intel & M1) don't have any issues with color radar from multiple sites.
What I see with Safari 16.0 in Monterey 12.6. The Weather Channel.
