voicemail says it's full when it is not...solution!

Okay, so this issue happened and I think a Verizon rep was able to help in a way that is different than anything I've seen thus far on the search engines.

1. hold the "1" button down on your phone.
2. follow the prompt that will ask for your password.
3. it will start playing your messages. You don't have to listen to each message, just the date (in case it is one you don't want to get rid of) and immediately press "7" to delete!!!! Voila! It worked.
