The new Medication function in the Health app is useful for keeping track of medications and setting reminders. this was my trigger for updating to iOS 16.0.2. My 2nd gen iPhone SE was still on 15.6.1.
I tried to update to 16.0.2 using Settings/General BUT the iPhone wanted to install 15.7. When I agreed to this it reported that the update to 15.7 failed. It seems Apple has withdrawn the 15.7 update (I had the same problem with my wife's phone).
Anyway, I looked at the system requirements and our phones are suitable for iOS16.
On a hunch I tried upgrading to iOS 16.0.2 using an iMac running iTunes/Mojave. After agreeing to upload an iTunes update it worked. Now running 16.0.2 and the Medication function is available in the Health app. I suppose there is a way to do this iOS update in a similar way with later versions of macOS (no iTunes).
