apple pencil doesn't work unless pressing down hard

hi I'm using an iPad air (4th gen) with a 2nd gen apple pencil and shortly after changing the battery of the iPad due to malfunctions, I can no longer use the pencil without pressing down rlly hard. tapping on things forces me to basically hit the pencil against the screen to get it to tap on the icons, especially towards the top of my screen and it's a pain. I'm assuming this has something to do with the display after the battery replacement but I'm not very sure. how can I fix this and is there a quick fix cuz I rlly need to use my ipad rn, thanks.

iPad Air, 15

Was the iPad battery changed by Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - a third-party repair shop, or by yourself?

As the issue occurred subsequent to a battery change, you’ll need to seek assistance from whoever serviced the iPad - as the something has been disturbed or not correctly recalibrated. Be aware that unless Apple or an AASP did not themselves perform the battery change, you have forfeited all hardware support.
