Music continuously drops link to homepod speaker. It appears to be playing but no sound. Out of ideas, did the usual stuff.

Not knowing what you tried, we don’t know what else to suggest but here’s a few:
Restart HomePod from the Home App
Reboot the wifi router
Sign out of your Apple ID in the home app & sign back in
If you were AirPlaying to HomePod, close the app you were using and restart that device
