iOS 16 update

I recently updated my iOS to iOS 16 on my iPhone Xs. Just a day later I found a vertical line on my screen that is unresponsive to touch. There is no visible line on the LED display however the touch is not working. I am unable to type the letter between g and j separately and anything above or below this letter is unresponsive to touch in a vertical line and am using autocorrect for typing. This has incurred a lot of financial and emotional damage to me. I am looking for a way to solve my problem, please guide on how to do so.

Hello basharat272,

With what you're describing, it sounds strongly like a physical concern as opposed to software. What we'd recommend is reaching out and to contact Apple Support. They can help look into this with you.

You can also try some of the steps listed at If the screen isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support:

  1. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Make sure that your screen is clean and free of any debris or water.
  3. Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger.
  4. Remove any cases or screen protectors.
