Connect 1 old MacBook Pro to a new ?

Hello, I wonder is there a way to connect my old MacBook Pro to the new one and use old files?

I have a 2007-2008 13 inch MacBook Pro, see picture and a new MacBook Pro USB3, 2019

Best, N

Hello nefeli0514,

You may try using the Migration Assistant app to move data from one Mac to another. This page has the steps on how to use that: Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support

Be sure to check out the following steps first from the 'Get ready' section:

1. Install all available software updates on both computers.
2. If both computers are using macOS Sierra or later, place them near each other with Wi-Fi  turned on. If either one is using OS X El Capitan or earlier, make sure that both are on the same network.
3. On your old Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Sharing. Make sure that a name appears in the Computer Name field.
4. If you installed antivirus or firewall software on either Mac, turn that software off until after migration is complete.

Then the remainder of the page will help with walking through the process.

Cheers.
