Tidal Connect / Spotify Connect Volume Issues with iOS 16

Upon upgrading to IOS 16, the volume controls with both Tidal and Spotify (both via Connect), are buggy.


With Tidal Connect, the volume immediately jumps to 100%, and can’t be lowered while the Tidal app is open. In fact, the master volume controls even can’t be lowered directly on source while the app is open. Only when you close the app can you actually lower the volume on the source.


With Spotify Connect, the volume jumps up and down once you select your volume. It can jump up or down as much as 20 or as little as 2 increments. Again, once you close the app, you can fine tune the volume directly on the source.


Lastly, when using my older phone with iOS 15.x, none of these issues occur. I tested them side by side.

If an app on your iPhone or iPad doesn't work as expected, try this.

Close and reopen the app
1. Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
 2. Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
 3. Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.
 4. Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.
