How to get road names to show up on map?

Apple Maps only seems to ever display the names of major roads and highways. I’m looking at a grid of streets with none of their names showing up (see image). I have tried zooming in and out and it never triggers. How can I tell maps to always display street and road names?

Any way to prevent Maps from zooming in when you type in an address? When I'm using the Maps app on my Mac, I am usually wanting to see the location relative to the other landmarks. Someone at Apple thought it would be a good idea to zoom in on the location that you've typed in (which makes you lose sight of all the landmarks.) I find this really frustrating. Does anyone have an idea of how to override this automatic zooming behavior, i.e. so that when you type in an address and hit enter, the location shows up on the map, but without zooming in on it? I had hoped there would be a preference for this, but if there is, I'm not finding it.

Street maps gone from my Apple Maps?! A week or so ago, I opened Apple Maps on my desktop (Mac Studio running current Monterey) and there are so streets, only a blank grid. When I search out a location, the info bubble appears and points to nothing. The satellite view shows the aerial imagery but with no street names and minimal labeling. Is there anyway of fixing this that is easier than an OS re-install?? Thanks!

Apple Maps shows only a grid on Mac Mini. I see this is a fairly common problem - judging from the number of posts regarding it - that has not been solved so far. It appears - at least in my case - to be a problem on the user side, isolated to a particular device. My iMac, iPhone and iPad show all maps properly, only the Mac Mini shows a grid instead. Is this something Apple doesn't like to talk about; and even less working on?

Or those road names are yet to be updated by Apple Maps.
