hello i have a iphone 8 and trying to set up apple pay but when it ask to verify ..... the phone number that comes up is not mine ... and the number is not stored on my phone ... any help please

Contact your carrier, check your contract.
Sign in to your Apple ID account page and edit / update your Apple ID details.
-> edit your trusted phone number.
