How to take advantage of 6 months free Verizon offer while maintaining my current Apple music account

On the cell phone plan that I have, I have free Apple Music with Verizon. Verizon had instructions on their website on how to sign up for the offer and keep my existing Apple Music.

Yes. You can still get Apple Music with your Verizon plan even if you’re already subscribed through Apple.

Once you redeem the Verizon promotional subscription and link your Apple ID, you'll be prompted within the Apple Music app to cancel one of your subscriptions. Canceling with Apple will continue your Apple Music subscription through Verizon.
