How do I delete a tab group in safari?

Thank you fissaj - your trick worked - the tab group is really annoying if you dont want it but your trick worked for me in deleting the tab groups I accidentally created. Apple did a terrible job on the tab group design.

Hi briannafromwherever, I had the same issue as you. No option to delete from this "Tab Group Favorites" view. Although I noticed this little thing that solved it.

Go "back" using the arrow next to Bookmarks. That brought me to the "true" tab view (not the favorites view). And voila, there is a delete option from there.

You do not have to organize tabs into groups. You can delete any tab groups you've already created and not use the feature. Here is a link to provide feedback regarding this new Safari features to Apple:

If you open the sidebar in Safari (icon to the right of the green circle in upper left corner) you'll find a list of Tab Groups. Hover over one and a circle with 3 dots will appear. Click on that for Tab Group options, including Delete.

The others in this thread are correct, we can't get rid of tab groups, I have tried deleting the tabs in the tab group, I have tried everything I could find. These are the only options. What do we do!?

Yeah, it's not straightforward at all. Glad this worked out for you. (First time I have resolved anyone's problem online ;-). I am generally the answer seeker. But this one is impossible to find, so I felt compelled to provide this :-))

Hi fissaj... brilliant! I was able to delete two tab groups I'd created in error. Thank you! (And like @eftonhome I've had some issues with tab groups and their design.)

You cannot delete tab groups in Safari... the option doesn't appear.

Can you please share a screenshot?
