Update credits in iMovie

Hello all. I imported a m4v of a short film I made years ago. I now want to update the credits.

Here are my questions:

-I can see where I want to split the file to cut the old credits, but when I try to do that, it also splits the audio file, which I don't want to do. How can I just split the video without the audio?

-In trying to create a simple Title Card with the following information, I can't find this style anywhere:

There is no one title that allows me to have lower case letters and upper case letters.

Can someone advise on the above questions? Thank you.

Hi, Tatami53,

In the timeline, select the video clip that has the embedded audio. Do a Modify/Detach Audio. That will leave you with a soundless video clip with an audio clip below it. Then select the video clip again and do a Modify/Split Clip at the place where you want to split off your old credits. Delete the old credits and substitute your new credits. When you share out the project as a movie file the video and audio will become merged together again.

Rich, thank you. This is INCREDIBLY helpful. I REALLY appreciate it.

Do you have any advice on the Title Cards? i.e. I just want to have a title card that reads something like:

But I cannot find one title card that has that combination, which is like, basic. I can find one with two levels, all in caps, the top level in a smaller font. But when I tried to modify the font (for lower case), it was impossible.

I'd greatly appreciate additional input, if you have it. Thank you!
