since I upgraded to IOS16 my tabs have randomly started moving to the private browser. One second they’re there the next they vanish. I can have them there for a few days or even a day. There’s no pattern, everything is up to date and I have forced close safari and restarted my phone multiple times still is same.

Does Safari seem to think the tab is closed if you were to complete the steps below that are also listed here: Open and close tabs in Safari on iPhone ? This may help to resolve the issue, or to isolate the issue further and determine our next steps.
Open a recently closed tab
Tap, touch and hold
, then choose from the list of recently closed tabs.
