iPhone 14 dropping calls

Yesterday, I upgraded from my tried and true iPhone XR to the new iPhone 14. Today, I dropped four calls, all while sitting in the same location - the desk I’ve always worked from. I can’t tell whether this is a 14 issue a Verizon issue or a 5G issue, but it definitely impacts my business so I’d welcome any suggestions, TIA.

I just got the regular iPhone 14. Switch back to 4G/LTE from the 5G. After I switched my calls stopped dropping. I believe the iPhone 14’s and Verizon’s 5G network aren’t compatible. I did everything Apple and Verizon told me including a full wipe and install, new esim, and actually testing of my phone in the store and getting a whole new phone nothing helped. The only thing that worked was switching back to 4G.

Troubleshooting iPhone 14 and Call Dropping:

Contact your Carrier:

If calls are not going through as they should, then contact your Carrier. If you are not getting 5G, then it may not be an option in your area. Report back the results of what they said.

Recently upgraded from an iPhone12 mini to an iPhone14 on the FirstNet network. The signal strength changes while sitting in the exact same place in my office that I have worked in for the last 20 years and previously had no issues with reception. Now anyone I call complains that they cannot hear me and the phone drops calls. Really feel like I made a HUGE mistake trading in my iPhone 12 mini which had great reception and never had these issues. So frustrating that Apple cannot make a device that you can actually use as a phone, this seems to be a secondary priority to cameras, screen quality, etc... I am working with Firstnet to change from IMEI to IMEI2 for the eSim and they are telling me that this is a known issue. My primary carrier is AT&T and I have not had any issues until I upgraded my phone, but I may have to switch to another carrier in order to get reliable cell service in my house due to this phone. This phone ***** and I am very disappointed in Apple in terms of their release of a product that cannot even perform the intended task of making reliable calls. Especially being a First Responder being able to make calls is a critical function, guess I will send a text if I am in trouble.

here is what I’ve heard and just did. I will know tomorrow if all is improved:

I did it and lost no data..just follow instructions

The had me do the following and it worked: Go to

Settings

General

Transfer or reset iphone

Reset

Reset Network Settings

It then powers off and resets phone / powers back on. The iPhone 14Pro now works fine. You will not lose any data etc.

I have exactly the same issue. I had an issue of calls dropping after 8-9 seconds on an iPhone 13 Pro. I handed it in now via Apple Care to get some diagnostics. In absence of my iPhone 13 I switched back to an iPhone 11 where none of these issues occur. My wife recently bought an iPhone 13 mini to replace an iPhone 8, and it has exactly the same issue. She handed the newly bought iPhone 13 in and bought an iPhone 14. Guess what: same issue. She switched back to the iPhone 8, where no issues occur. We contacted our provider: they don't see any issues on the network, which is logical, because the symptoms don't occur on an iPhone 8 nor on an iPhone 11. So to conclude so far: we have 3 iPhones (13 Mini, 13 Pro and 14) with dropping calls after 8-9 seconds. We switched to eSIM, didn't solve it, switched back to a new physical SIM, didn't solve it neither. iPhone 8 and iPhone 11 work perfectly well. All iPhones are on the same version 16.3. I'm really surprised to see "only" a few hundreds of people having this issue. We had a thought that maybe the dropping calls are linked to the fact that all our devices are connected to apple watches and iPads... The reason why I mention this is because we have an impression that the issues are more frequent at our home location, and less when we are away from home... This is really a weird issue. On top of all of this: we have two family members with an iPhone 13 who don't have the issue... Symptoms are the same with WiFi active or off. We are on a 4G network. Calling via WhatsApp works fine on all devices. APPLE, this is a horrible issue that requires a quick fix!

bought two new iPhones, 14 pro max and 14 plus - dropped calls on both. Verizon: hours on phone with them, no help. Apple: many more hours on the phone, escalated to top tier tech support 3 times, no help. 2500 dollars later, my head is exploding. Used iPhone 13 Pro Max and 12 pro max in exact same spot, for years, with same carrier, and same Wifi set up, no dropped calls. This little bit of information sees to fall off the radar of every tech person I've talked to so far.
