iPhone external storage

If I use an external storage device for the iPhone (as sold on this site), is it possible to pull the videos from that device and play them on the iPhone? Or is it for a storage only thing?

You can also pull videos and play them on the iPhone.

Just navigate to the external storage using the 'Files' app to the videos that you would like to watch.
