Have same issue on iphone. When i use lightning cable to charge it wont charge but phone will charge with magsafe charger. Looking like until new patch is put out only options are magsafe charger or going back to previous update. Good luck

What you're describing is unlikely 1) to be the result of a software update and 2) to be fixed by a software update.
The first thing to check is if there is any debris in the port. For reasons unknown, those little lightning ports seem to attract pocket lint and other debris. And then it all gets jammed in every time you plug in a cable until the cables simply can't connect properly. Under a bright light and, with a magnifier, if you have one, examine the port for any lint or anything and, using a non-conductive tool such as a tooth pick, gently remove it.
