Voice to text disabled when connected to car bluetooth

Hello all. I have seen this issue on the forum but no definitive answer...

I recently upgraded to an iphone 14 Pro. When I attempt voice-to-text which connected to bluetooth (headphones, car) the phone microphone appears disabled and voice-to-text doesn't work. The was previously not an issue with my iphone XS; I could successfully voice-to-text while connected to bluetooth. Please advise on the setting to fix. Thank you.

Hello Docwolfj,

Dictation is a great feature and you've come to a great place. Since you're noticing this issue when connected to any Bluetooth device, have you restarted the iPhone? If not, restarting the iPhone is a great way to resolve many issues. You can find the steps for restarting below and in the following article.

  1. "Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

Restart your iPhone
