How do I reset my iPad to the factory settings if it was given to me by someone who I don’t speak to anymore and don’t have their password to do so

Sounds like it's locked via AppleID. In that case, you contact the previous owner and ask them to unlock it, and remove it from their AppleID account. Then you're free to set it up under your own account.


There is no other option. Locking via AppleID is a theft deterrent that renders the device unusable if it's lost or stolen.
