Ever since Apple introduced this new "schedule" sleep mode setting in Energy Saver my iMac has refused to fall asleep. Two apps are keeping it from sleep mode. Music and Creative Cloud by Adobe.
I've checked both apps and neither has a setting anywhere where you can tell it to not allow your computer to fall asleep.
I did see a few articles on the matter, but no one had a definitive solution. Any ideas?
Sleep’s not necessary on later Macs, all pain, no gain. To disable, set your Energy Saver settings to as shown:
Separately, avoid manual sleep, use screen lock instead or let the display switch off/auto-lock on timer. For long or overnight absences, shut.
You have the sliding display-off timer, have you tried it? That’s your source to save monitor energy. Otherwise switch the monitors off using their on-off buttons, that’s what they’re for.
I concur with the work around that hcsitas has offered.
If that doesn’t work for you, then the other options are,
Use the sliding timer for that or manually switch them off. Monitors are the biggest energy hogs, however, sleeping the mini isn’t the way to deal with it, that’s obvious.
You're not linking your source of information and you didn't even take into consideration that I stated in the subject matter that "specific apps" are keeping the iMac from also mode.
I don't have time to manually put it to sleep and I didn't pay 4500 to manually put a computer to sleep

I need it to go into sleep mode for all my external monitors. Otherwise it looks like I work on the sun.
I already reported the issue to Apple 2 releases ago. 4x even. They're not going to respond. It's just a glitch that will most likely take a bunch of people complaining about to even get them onboard. I saw articles from 4 years ago on thy subject that it was happening back then too. So it's most likely moot.
