Touch ID issue in Macbook pro M1 and need a replacement after updating to macOS Monterey 12.6

My touch ID on my Macbook Pro M1 abruptly ceased functioning. My finger stoped being detected, and the touch ID enrollment process was not successful. I have done everything listed below after browsing the internet for answers:

Revoke PRAM

Reset the SMC

using xartutil —erase-all but it didn't work. (Avoid doing this; it will disrupt the entire system)

The thing is that, I noticed this sudden failure after updating the macOS Monterey 12.6 update. One day after the upgrade, I found that my touch id was no longer functioning. I took my MacBook to the Apple Store, where they identified the touch ID problem as BMT004 BMT005 BMT003 and advised me to replace both the Touch ID and the logic board. I want to alert you about this problem since I saw a quick battery drain also while in sleep mode.

FYI, an M1/M2 Mac with Apple Silicon do not have an SMC Reset or PRAM Reset procedure.

Another thing I would suggest trying when troubleshooting a Mac with Apple Silicon would be "Restoring" the firmware which will reset the security enclave and push a clean OS onto the internal SSD.

Revive or restore a Mac with Apple silicon using Apple Configurator - Apple Support

Also, make sure to always have frequent and regular backups of the computer and all external media (including the cloud) which contains important & unique data. Data recovery is not really much of an option with the newer Macs.
