"Notify when left behind" warning comes too late. Can I adjust how soon the notification is sent?

"Notify when left behind" for AirTagged items and for iPhone is a useful feature on my Apple Watch, but it would be a lot more useful if the notification would come sooner. As it is, I am often a mile away before I ever get a notification. Is there a way to make the notification of a left-behind item come sooner?
