2 mask icon, how to turn it off

Swipe the watch face up from the bottom and tap on the icon again and it turns it off. If the masks are white with gray background then it is off. If the background is yellow, then it is on. This is Theater Mode.

It only appears on an Apple Watch, so yes, I knew it was the Watch. What happened when you tried to turn it off. What did you see on the screen? Did you get to Control Panel? Did you see the icon, and if yes, what happened when you tried to turn it off.
