I would like to keep the camera shutter closed on my macbook pro 16 2022.

Is there a recommended Camera shutter that you could recommend that won't damage the computer?

Thanks Apple support!

No. The only camera cover which I have seen is so thin and flimsy that it is likely to fall apart when sliding the cover. I only saw it on an Intel Mac and as far as I could tell it did not hit the palmrest/trackad. However, Apple Silicon Macs are different and have even thinner case designs so I'm not even sure that even the thinnest cover would fit. I don't know the manufacturer of the one I saw. The majority of camera covers I have seen people use on their Macs always interfere with the lid closing which makes it very likely the display will crack. It is very expensive to replace a laptop Display Assembly ($600+ US).

A better option is to use a Post-It note cut to fit along the bezel to cover the camera if you feel insecure. Something else many people don't think about is the microphone. However, see the next part of my post which describes how the camera works, but part of it also mentions other new security features to restrict access to both the camera and microphone.

Apple changed how the camera works these days. Apple hardwired the camera in such a way that the camera LED will light whenever the camera is active. Plus macOS provides extra security settings to limit which apps are allowed access to the camera. See the following Apple article with details on how the camera now operates:
