airpod pro second gen doesn't show up on find my

My airpods pro second gen connect to my phone and devices fine, but it doesn't show up in find my. I disconnected, reconnected, made sure everything is connected and followed many articles, but it does not show up. All of my other devices are connected to find my. Do I have to update to ios 16? Does airpod pro second gen work on ios 15.7?
