Can I upgrade my harddrive on 2020 Intel Macbook Pro?

I've read everywhere that 2020 intel (and m1) macbook pros have hard drives that are soldered to the mobo and are not DYI upgradable. However, I called into Apple Support and the person there said they do sell upgrade kits for my Macbook Pro and I could buy one and take it into an Apple Store and have them install it.

Conflicting info, right? Anyone have any insight?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.5

The Apple USB-C laptops have their SSDs integrated (aka soldered) to the Logic Board which means they are not removable or upgradeable after purchase. I don't think Apple has any computers including Desktops which have removable internal drives. Actually the Mac Pro (2019) desktop tower technically has removable "SSDs", but they are not standard SSDs so there are no third party replacement/upgrade options to replace the original internal factory SSD even for that computer (because it is a desktop system with expansion slots, there are other internal options).

Your options for a laptop are to either order another Mac from Apple with the amount of internal storage you want/need, or use external storage (USB3+ SSDs, or network storage).

FYI, most Macs today also have integrated memory on the Logic Board which is not upgradeable after purchase. Keep this in mind when buying a Mac.
