AirDrop not working - Macbook sees my iPhone, but my iPhone doesn't see the Macbook

When I try to send files from my phone to my macbook the phone says "No People Found." It doesn't see the Macbook. However, the Macbook sees the phone and I can send files to the phone. Bluetooth is working for both devices. Both devices have Airdrop set to "everyone." I can't find an answer on Google or any forums. My phone also doesn't see the Airdrop on a Mac workstation in our computer lab. But the Mac sees my phone. What is going on? Help!

To help troubleshoot the behavior, ensure macOS and iOS are updated. Check out those steps here:

"Before continuing, it's a good idea to back up your Mac.
From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences.
Click Software Update in the System Preferences window. Can't find Software Update?
Software Update now checks for new software.

If Software Update finds new software, click Update Now or Upgrade Now to install. You might be asked to restart or enter an administrator password.
If Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, then no new software is currently available for your Mac model."

Additionally, toggle AirDrop to Receiving Off on your iPhone and then toggle it back on to see if that helps. To do so:

1) Tap Settings

2) Tap General > AirDrop

3) Tap Receiving Off

4) Wait 30 seconds

5) Tap Everyone

Afterwards, restart each device and then test the behavior to see if AirDrop works as expected:
