'other' category in screen time usage

ive had my MacBook air for about 3 weeks now, and I've seen a problem with the screen time, in the last 2 weeks, it has accurately told me how much time ive spend on my MacBook.

it wasn't until this week that ive seen that the category 'other' says that my screen time increased, mainly in the middle of the night. at first i thought it was because i put my MacBook to sleep instead of shutting it off, but that has never been the problem.

i wonder if its something that i should be worried about, and if there's anything that can be done to change this?

i attached my screen time for this week and last week just for reference.

Hello jaeburora,

To help you solve your issue, let's use the steps below to make sure macOS is all up to date:

1. Before continuing, it's a good idea to back up your Mac.
2. From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences.
3. Click Software Update in the System Preferences window. Can't find Software Update?
4. Software Update now checks for new software.
• If Software Update finds new software, click Update Now or Upgrade Now to install. You might be asked to restart or enter an administrator password.
• If Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, then no new software is currently available for your Mac model.

You can also find those steps in this resource: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

Afterwards, make sure to also check for any updates for your apps: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support

1. Open the App Store.
2. In the sidebar, click Updates.
3. Click Update next to an app to update only that app, or click Update All.

Updating can sometimes help address odd behaviors.

Just let us know if that entry is still showing up in Screen Time afterwards, and we'll take further steps from there. Take care.
