Six columns and a lot of horizontal lines in display of MacBook Pro 2018

I bought this MacBook Pro 2018 four years ago, and I like it as it's an essential tool for my job. There had been some malfunction on keyboard, it had been fixed twice with replacement of whole keyboard, the first time is 2020, and second time is two months ago, the last time is almost close to deadline of Apple's keyboard service.

Two months later, I was working with a bluetooth keyboard, I was even not touching this macbook pro, it suddenly went to malfunction, there are a lot of horizontal lines on the screen as photo shown like this.

I went to genius bar, the guy told me the screen was broken, he has two advices for me, the one is to replace the screen which would cost me 5,100 RMB, or I give this MacBook to Apple that I could get 4,200 RMB, it's so unfair that I had paid more than 20,000 RMB for it, and he refused to give me a reasonable explanation why the screen went broken, but he did imply that I might had pressed the screen, it could be like this if it bore too much pressure.

I found some cases just like mine on youtube, it might be so called FlexGate Cable issue, Apple confessed the FlexGate Cable issue on some 13 inches models which don't include MacBook Pro 2018 15 inches. I swear I don't press the screen at all, and the guy in genius bar looked over the laptop and found no sign of any pressure.

I hope the Apple either confesses the screen fault, or expand the 13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program to cover the more models which might have the same issue.

The problem may or may not be related to the FlexGate issue. The screen issues shown can be caused by a bad LCD Panel as well. Unfortunately there is no way to be sure which is the cause. I've seen these screen failures even on older models from before the design flaw leading to the FlexGate issue. These displays are thinner than older Macs so they are a bit more fragile so it doesn't take as much to damage them sometimes.

Since Apple has not acknowledged the design flaw with any other models than the 13" MBPro (2016) in the last six years, it is highly unlikely Apple will do so now unless made to do so by a lawsuit. Besides the majority of Apple's free repair programs are only valid for 3 or 4 years with a few valid for 5 years. FYI, I have seen the FlexGate issue (backlight goes out when opening the lid more than about 45 degrees) in other models (both 13" & 15") up to and including one 2020 model. It is less common with the 2018 - 2020 models, but it still exists.

I knew there was nothing I could do to push Apple to do something for me, I also can take it that I'm an unlucky one who has bought a product with some potential screen flaw. I just don't like Apple's attitude, the repair cost is so high, meanwhile the price of recycle is so low. Apple just doesn't want to offer any solution to meet its product quality problem, it just wants I throw my MBPro away then to buy its new product with high price.
