I have a Ipad 9.3.5, Model MC989LL/A. I would like to know if it can be updated so i can use zoom and whatsup on it?

No. Model MC989LL/A corresponds to a a Second Generation iPad from 2011. iOS 9.3.5 is as far as it can update.

That iPad model is over 11-years, old in 2022.

It is too old and is obsolete and has been obsolete for the past 4 years, or so.

It can never, ever be upgraded beyond iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6.

Time to consider a new or “newer” model iPad that can run the up and coming iPadOS 15.
