Saving a file to the internal SSD/HD

Hi,

I rencently bought a new Mac Book Pro. I want to save things to the internal "Macintosh HD, which is from my understanding an SSD. When I go to create a folder or even move anything to this location I am denied access. I can create/move files to other locations (Desktop/external drives), but it seems I am denied access to my own Macintosh HD.

Why is this?

Thanks for any help!

I've always used my home folder to store things. and saving things to the home folder IS saving things to your internal drive. you can create as many or as few folders that you would like to put your data into.

the reason you are having your issue is that macOS now lives in it's own sealed volume in which you cannot add to or remove things from. you no longer save things to the hard drive icon on your desktop for the people who used to do it that way.
