Ipad pro 12.9 2017 white patch - would a battery replacement fix it?

My ipad pro 12.9 (2017) has had a white patch for several years now. Based on the location, could it be due to battery swelling? If it is a screen issue I would probably go for a new device than trying to repair it.

I noticed yesterday that the screen had lifted slightly and that there was a slight smell coming from the phone, almost like nail polish. I took it into EE today to be sent off to an apple authorised repair service. My iphone 13 battery swelled up!!! My iphone 13 started close itself suddenly. Even though I have a charge, it suddenly turns off and on, so there is 10% left and it turns off again within 1 minute. Today my battery is swollen and my screen separated from the case. If I take it to the Apple store, will it be repaired on the same day? Do I pay extra screen fees? My warranty has expired.

I don’t think that battery swelling goes on for that long.

but if it’s been years it’s probable that the damage is irreparable.

A new device is likely in your future. Keep the info backed up in case you lose the device completely
