New compass app not working

Hello,

I installed watchOS 9 last night, and I was reading about the new compass features, however when I open the app, neither of the buttons (backtrack and waypoints) show on my watch. All that shows is the menu button in the top left. I would like to use these new features, but I need to fix whatever is going on here first. Any ideas?
