Watch and Phone Airplane Mode not in synch

Airplane mode is not syncing between Apple Watch and iPhone when I toggle airplane mode on the phone. It DOES work when I toggle on the Apple Watch. (Apple Watch 7, iPhone 13 Pro Max, both on latest software update, both have been restarted. Apple Watch re-synched)

Hello Adeybaby,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help ensure Airplane Mode is working as expected on your Apple Watch and iPhone.

Let's start by checking your settings to mirror Airplane Mode with this step:

"You can set your iPhone and Apple Watch to mirror the Airplane Mode setting of the other device. Go to the Watch app on your iPhone, then tap General > Airplane Mode > Mirror iPhone."

This Apple Support page has the full details: Use Airplane Mode on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support

If the issue continues, toggle the setting and then test again.

We hope this helps to quickly isolate and resolve the issue to get Airplane Mode mirroring on your devices again.

Cheers!

Hey Adeybaby,

Based on the steps you’ve taken, the next thing to do is unpair and pair your Apple Watch and iPhone. This could resolve the issue. Here’s how:

1. Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together as you unpair them.
2. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
3. Go to the My Watch tab and tap All Watches.
4. Tap the info button  next to the watch that you want to unpair.
5. Tap Unpair Apple Watch.
6. For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan.
• If you want to pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again, keep your plan.
• If you don't want to pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again, remove your plan. If you aren't going to pair with a different watch or iPhone, you might need to contact your carrier to cancel your cellular subscription.
7. Tap again to confirm. You might need to enter your Apple ID password to disable Activation Lock. Before erasing all content and settings on your Apple Watch, your iPhone creates a new backup of your Apple Watch. You can use the backup to restore a new Apple Watch. After your Apple Watch unpairs, you'll see the Start Pairing message.
8. Set up your Apple Watch again.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Take care.
